Jovovic’s company “Comp Comerc” bought Onogost at the end of April for 1.1 million euros and revived the hotel which was closed in 2013 after 57 years of work. At the moment 63 rooms in the old part of the hotel are functional, and biggest works are on construction of the so-called “glass”, after which Onogost will get additional 260 beds in capacity.
“Works in the new part of the hotel will be finished by the 1st of October. When we started with works we noticed that the time had taken its toll on the hotel so we had to change all the installations in order to avoid future complications. Because of this, planned investment has already been exceeded”, emphasized Jovovic.
Although the investments were bigger than it was initially planned, Jovovic believes that buying Onogost will prove to be a good business decision.
According to his words, hotel is already having many visitors. Large hall is in use, where various manifestations are organized, and restaurant and the famous hotels terrace have been restored too.
“Plans for Onogost are numerous, and full restoration of the old part is expected in spring of next year. We will have internet rooms in the hotel, libraries, cafe, copy places, and office rooms for various companies. The plan is also to build a spa center where the tavern is at the moment, and negotiations for this are ongoing as we speak”, concluded Jovovic.
