A million passengers will pass through Tivat airport

During first six months of this year national border has been crossed by more passengers and cars compared to last year, and there’s an increase in number of airplanes and boats too, it was said to Pobjeda. 

Airport Tivat will for the first time in history, according to estimations by the airline companies, pass the number of a million served passengers in a year. 

This was said to Pobjeda by Milica Babic, spokeswoman of the Airports of Montenegro, based on the trends and analytical data of the number of planes and passengers who used the Tivat airport from the beginning of the year. 

“Only in first 10 days of July we broke all the records in both airports. The increase of traffic on Podgorica airport was 33 percent, while in Tivat it was 24 percent”, said Babic. 

When all the data is observed for the period between 1st of January and 10th of July of this year, the increase in planes turnout in Podgorica is nine percent, while in Tivat there are eight percent more airplanes. 

During this period through both Montenegrin airports 603.972 passengers have passed, which is 11 percent more than in the same period of last year. The passengers turnover at Podgorica airport is bigger for 14 percent 377.440 passengers which is an increase by 47.335 passengers), while the increase of traffic at Tivat airport is six percent (291.635 passengers, which is an increase by 17.768 passengers).
