A record-breaking attendance of Tivat airport: Over a million travellers expected

There is a traffic growth and it is almost certain that it will be about 15% higher than last year. The new developments have already started with Easy Jet’s flights, Macic said.

As he added, Tivat airport is seriously working on securing the prerequisites that are essential to successfully perform all those tasks expected by its business partners and service users.

That requires the inspection and preparation of technical equipment and systems, as well as continuous staff education.

As Macic pointed out, the training and examination for license renewal are ongoing. The licences are related to the field of safety and security for permanent employees, but also for interested participants who need such licenses in order to be able to apply for seasonal jobs at the airport.

“In addition to significant growth of charter companies, we have the announcement of flights by some of the most popular low-cost airlines such as Ryanair, Easy Jet, Wizz Air, as well as the well-known Israeli company Israil Travel, which will allow direct flights from Montenegro to Israel. We continued purchasing equipment for aircrafts and fully equipped security system for checking of luggage, passengers and staff. We also continuously work on improving our staff. All of that contributes to recognising Montenegro as a safe tourist destination”, Macic told Skala Radio.

As expected, the number of passengers served at the Tivat airport is expected to exceed 1,000,000 this year.

“Of course, increasing traffic demands an increase in the number of employees in the summer season”, Macic said.
