Bulgaria is the sixth NATO member to ratify the Protocol.
It has been ratified by Iceland, Slovenia, Hungary, Slovakia and Albania already.
Last night, the White House has started the process of ratification and sent a note to USA Senate.
Montenegro has signed the Protocol on May 19th in Brussels. All NATO members will have to ratify the Protocol before Montenegro can become a full member of the Alliance.
The final ratification will be in Montenegro’s Parliament. The process of ratification should be over by middle of 2017.
Montenegro will be an observer during the next NATO Summit in Warsaw.
