CGES has invested 42 mil in Montenegrin power grid

Montenegrin Transmission System (CGES) has so far invested over 42 million euros in the local power grid. Ministry adds great interest in the company may be attributed to the strong investment cycle which began in 2011, and especially the project of electricity interconnection between Montenegro and Italy via submarine power cable.

“This project will connect Montenegrin power grid with the Western European electricity market, provide safer distribution to consumers safer and offer many more benefits”, explained the Ministry.

One of the most demanding projects of CGES in the previous past years was the construction of 400 kV transmission line “Podgorica – Tirana” to connect with Albania, and also the entire region.

CGES invested 11 million euros in this project, accompanied by construction of TS “Podgorica 5”, worth almost two million euros.

Ministry of Economy cited many other projects testifying to company’s hard work on improving Montenegro’s power network.
