Darko Pajovic is a candidate for Parliament Speaker, Azra Jasavic for deputy prime minister

After dismissal of Ranko Krivokapic, who held the office for 13 years, appointing of the new Parliament Speaker and a deputy prime minister should be carried out at the session scheduled for 1 June.

Former Parliament Speaker Ranko Krivokapic, was dismissed on 18 May. At the initiative of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) and parties representing minorities, the MPs voted for his dismissal after a long session. After a secret ballot, 43 MPs voted for Krivokapic’s dismissal and one MP voted against.

If PCG receives these two positions, as Dnevne Novine newspaper earlier carried and Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic indirectly confirmed, the party will face a difficult task.

The Positive Montenegro will take over the top position in the legislative branch, which is to do a lot of work after months of a stalemate. The Parliament has to adopt 300 laws, including those waiting for more than four years to enter the parliamentary procedure.

According to PCG president Darko Pajovic, the party brought the greatest sacrifice of democratic process in Montenegro.

“We set up three goals when we conditioned our support to the government. I am pleased to say that all three of them are filled”, Pajovic earlier said.
