Djukanovic in Ulcinj: DPS promotes harmonious coexistence of all peoples in our common home

“Believing that we will further strengthen current stability in this way, we are going towards European and Euro Atlantic integration. That is why we are the leaders in European integration today and why we are on the brink of joining NATO. Through the integration processes, we aligned our system with the European system, thereby sending a message to investors that there is a stable environment in Montenegro in which they can do their business by European standards and to contribute to the economic development of Montenegro. No one who thinks about themselves and their families can have the dilemma of whom to vote on 16 October”, Djukanovic said.

Djukanovic said he was satisfied with support DPS traditionally gets in Ulcinj and pointed out that voters in this elections decided whether they want a stable country or return to the past.

“I’m glad that this gathering, like many previous rallies, shows a stable support of Ulcinj residents to DPS policies, which is a proof of the traditionally strong ties between Montenegrins, Albanians and all other peoples who live here”, said Djukanovic.

He emphasised that the value of projects and investments that are currently being implemented in Montenegro is evidence of the progress achieved.

“All projects that are now being implemented in Montenegro (Porto Montenegro €450m worth, Lustica €1bn, submarine power cable €850m, the Thermal Power Plant (TE) Pljevlja second block €500m, the first section of Bar-Boljare highway €800m) show that we are on the right track to achieve our goal, because without there is no new jobs or salaries and pensions growth without economic development,” Djukanovic said.

He commented on the opposition leaders’ allegations, calling him “lies and manipulation”.

“The leader of a small party proved to be a miserable and inferior manipulator. He said that the PM cannot prove that employment increased. The Monstat statistics agency, which works according to European standards, announced that employment increased by 21,000. The second falsehood is that tourist visits to Montenegro are not at the level they used to be in SFRY. I looked at the data, 1987 was the best tourist year in Yugoslavia. In 2015, Montenegro had as much as 33% better tourist visits than in 1987. I think it is very clear that even this much manipulation and lies cannot be tolerated even during the campaign. Although we try to stick to presenting our programme and ideas, we are obliged to warn the citizens who they deal with these days and that every vote for them is a wasted vote”, Djukanovic said.

“Other political opponents have changed their leaders, ideologies, funders, mentors, but never realised they cannot gain the trust of citizens in that way. That’s why they cannot beat us, because we have developed deep trust with the people and that is the key to our success”, Djukanovic concluded.

DPS MP Luigj Skrelja expressed his belief that voters in Ulcinj will know to assess which candidates list is worth to be supported in the elections on 16 October.

“Your presence shows a respectable support for the steady strides into another landslide victory”, he said.

In the packed hall of Ulcinj Culture Centre, Skrelja explained how to win the elections.

“Elections cannot be won by sprays, or AFIS systems, or insults, or slander. Only honest citizens, the people who know to assess who is working for their interests, can win the elections”, he said.
