Estonian government supported accession of Montenegro to NATO

On 12 May, the Estonian government approved signing of the protocol on the obligations of a state for NATO, which was signed on 19 May in Brussels by foreign ministers of NATO member states, including the Estonian Minister of Foreign Affairs Marin Kaljurand.

The next step after signing the protocol is ratifying the protocol by all NATO member states. Thus, the Estonian Parliament also has to ratify it, RTCG carried.

For the time being, the protocol has been ratified by Island, Slovenia, Hungary, Slovakia, Albania, Bulgaria and Poland. After all NATO member states ratify the protocol, Montenegrin Parliament should also ratify the Washington Treaty.
