Everyone is wondering: What minority parties will decide tonight?

The representatives of the Bosniak Party (BS), the Croatian Civic Initiative (HGI) and the Albanians Resolute coalition will negotiate jointly about joining the new government and the platform they will offer the other parties will be agreed following days.

In the elections held on 16 October, the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) won 36 seats, the Democratic Front (DF) 18, the Key coalition 9, the Democrats 8, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) 4, BS and the Social Democrats 2 seats each and the Albanian coalition and HGI one seat each.

Minority parties, which the future government will depend on, received offers to join the government both from DPS and the opposition.

The opposition is ready to offer them the position of prime minister if they get their crucial support to constitute a minority government that would be supported by DF, which would not take part in it.

Milo Djukanovic’s DPS also counts on the minority parties’ support.

The first candidate on the BS electoral register Ervin Ibrahimovic had earlier told CDM what he thinks about the opposition’s offer.

“I think that each of us would be honoured to be the prime minister of our country, but we should look at things from various perspectives. So wishes are one thing and reality another. We’ll see what decision our party bodies will make, but I think it’s time that someone from the minority population holds one of the three major positions in the country”, he said.

On the other hand, Adrian Vuksanovic, the first candidate on GHI electoral register, said the prime minister would not be from that party.

“When you offer someone to be prime minister, it is certainly tempting, but you should be aware of your capabilities and requirements of the post and to respond accordingly. I’ve just entered high politics and I think I am not qualified to be prime minister. I consider myself a responsible person who must act responsibly in the political arena. A great experience and knowledge is needed for the PM post. Prime minister will not be appointed from HGI ranks”, Vuksanovic said.
