Foreign officials congratulated Independence Day to Đukanović

“Congratulations for accomplishments of last ten years” were first sent by President of European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker. American State Secretary John Kerry was represented at the central ceremony by Deputy State Secretary Hoyt Yee.

„Friendship between our two countries remains strong, and I look forward to your country’s progress in the years to come”, Kerry’s letter reads.

Secretary General of NATO Generalni sekretar NATO Jens Stoltenberg pointed out his firm belief in independent Montenegro, underlining central role Prime Minister had in the quest for independence.

„This is what enabled Montenegro to once again make decisions about its own fate and interest. EU integration that Montenegro is involved in is certainly the right goal, guarantee of peace and prosperity for your country and the region”.

Secretary General of European Council Thorbjørn Jagland has also sent a congratulations letter.

Prime Minister of Romania Dacian Julien Cioloș congratulated Đukanović via letter as well.

„I use this opportunity to congratulate MOntenegro on its finalization of accession negotiations with NATO. I hope that the current process of ratification in national parliaments will be done as soon as possible. We congratulate on opening new chapters with EU and repeat our determination to support Montenegro’s road to EU”, his letter reads.

Prime Ministers of Algeria and Tunisia, Abdelmalek Sellal and Habib Essid, sent their congratulations to Prime Minister Đukanović as well.
