Shooting in Adria region, that entails Serbia, BiH, Slovenia, Macedonia and Montenegro was announced at CineLink forum within Sarajevo Film Festival.
“Our goal is cooperation with local talent so that we can create quality shows that speak to the local audience”, said Steve Matthews, HBO executive producer.
In order to accomplish that goal, they have started a call First Drafts, to find the best script in the region.
“We are looking for local stories only”, he said, Screen Daily reports.
Applications should be in by November 15th.
HBO Europe has been producing in Eastern Europe since 2010, shows such as Romanian drama “Umbre”, Hungarian thriller “Aranyélet” and Czech crime drama “Mamon”. Some scenes in Game of Thrones have been shot in Croatia.
This new initiative will have the region on track with world trends, Klix.ba reports.
