Installing of the underwater cable soon to be continued

Daily newspaper Dnevne Novine learned the continuation of installing the 250 kilometers of power cable to our country, which will eventually be connected to the power station whose construction began in Lastva Grbaljska, is expected soon.

According to projections of the Montenegrin Electrical Transmission System (CGES), which is implementing this project together with Italian “Terna”, the power cable from Montenegro to Italy will be operational in early 2017.

“According to current dynamic plan presented to us by our strategic partner Terna, and according to the plans of our contractors, the power cable should be in operation in early 2017”, CGES stated earlier.

In mid-November 2010, the contract for the project to link Italy and Montenegro via power cable was signed. The agreement was signed between then Minister of Economy of Montenegro, Branko Vujovic, president of the Board of Directors of CGES, Zoran Djukanovic, and CEO of “Terna”, Flavio Cattaneo. The project is worth around one billion euros, although Montenegro participates in its implementation with 100 million euros.
