The visit of CIDS director to the Ministry of Defence has been organised within the Kingdom of Norway government’s project “Strengthening the integrity framework in public administration with a focus onsecurity and defence areas”, which is planned for the period 2014–2017 and aimed at establishing an adequate institutional measures to fight corruption.
Christensen said that in the long and constructive cooperation between the two countries in the field of defence, Montenegro proved to be a very reliable partner, which stands out among all the other states Norway cooperates with for its maturity in the approach to problems.
Sarkic said that the Ministry of Defence was particularly focused on the importance of the integrity building, with the awareness that this is a permanent and continuous process, which requires a special attention and monitoring.
The two officials agreed that in this process was vital to build stable institutions and that constant staff training and strengthening public support was particularly important.
The meeting was attended by Alma Adrovic, the head of the Directorate for NATO and the EU and Rajko Radevic, a CIDS associate.
Within the project, six areas in the defence system are being analysed.
