Military exercise demonstrated Montenegro’s capacities

Head of Directorate for NATO and EU Alma Adrović met Manza today. He is visiting Podgorica for military exercise Montenegro 2016.

As it was stated in the Ministry of Defense, Adrović said she was pleased that Montenegro got an opportunity to host this very important NATO exercise.

„This is yet another demonstration of our country’s readiness to participate in all joint activities with NATO”, Adrović said.

She said that, based on the pace of ratification so far, it can be expected that the process is finalized by spring next year.

Manza expressed gratitude to Montenegrin institutions for the logistics provided during the organization of this very complex exercise.

„He said that the exercise is of great significance because it demonstrates without a doubt that Montenegro’s capacities are ready to organize similar NATO activities in the future as well”, the statement reads.

Manza said he expects Montenegro to take part in the exercise next year as full fledged member of NATO.

„He used the opportunity to positively review Army of Montenegro and its participation in international operations, including NATO mission in Afghanistan”, the statement reads.

The meeting was attended by Head of Department for military cooperation in Army of Montenegro, lieutenant Ilija Daković, representative of NATO Department for civic planning, Stefano Santamato, as well as advisor in Directorate for NATO and EU, Nikola Radunović.
