Milivoje Katnic – first head of Montenegrin USKOK

 

At the session of the Prosecution Council, chaired by the Supreme State Prosecutor, Ivica Stankovic, interviews with the candidates for the position of the Chief Special Prosecutor were held. The candidates were Djurdjina Nina Ivanovic, Head of the Department for Combating Organised Crime, Corruption, Terrorism and War Crimes, Milivoje Katnic, judge of the Appellate Court of Montenegro and Mitar Mugosa, a lawyer.

 

After the interviews, the Supreme State Prosecutor, Ivica Stankovic, proposed to the Prosecution Council to appoint Mr Milivoje Katnic as the Chief Special Prosecutor of the Special Public Prosecutor`s Office.

 

 

 

 

Members of the Council unanimously approved Mr Stankovic’s propose.

 

“Based on the evaluation of professional qualities, the ability to exercise prosecutor’s duties, I proposed Mr Milivoje Katnic for the position of the Chief Special Prosecutor. The Prosecution Council unanimously elected Milivoje Katnic. We believe Mr Katnic will prove that we have chosen the right candidate through his work and that he will perform his duties successfully. I expect him to intensify fight against corruption and organised crime,” Stankovic told reporters.
