Namely, European commission has given positive opinion of the National strategy for chapter 27. This strategy is the basis for harmonization of Montenegrin regulation with EU regulation regarding environment and is an initial measure for opening of this Chapter.
By creation of National strategy for Chapter 27, a serious progress has been made in area of environmental protection. The document has been created paralelly with the National strategy of the sustainable development, which also recognizes the importance of positioning the environment in the top of Government’s priorities.
By adopting the strategy a clear plan of operations is ready for the next four years, and first upcoming steps will be: institutional adjustment in order to efficiently realize planned activities, securing permanent national mechanisms for financing these processes. This area, it has been estimated, will demand investments of over 1.5 billion euros.
