Nikola Janović new minister of sport

Ministry of Sports in Montenegro was non existent since the 90’s, and minister used to be Montenegrin chess master Božidar Ivanović. During the last years, sport was a part of Directorate for Youth and Sport, Ministry of culture, of education… But now it will finally have its own house.

After the European Championship in Belgrade this year, Nikola Janović decided to end his career, and it was clear he is expecting high positions in Montenegrin sports.

“I will consider everything carefully. It is logical that I continue with sports. I can help Montenegro in this way. There are a lot of things to be done”, Janović said back in January.

He played for Primorac, Crvena zvezda, Bečej, Jadran, Posilipo, and Jug. Playing for Serbia and Montenegro he won gold in 2005 in Montreal, and with Montenegro he has two golds from european championships in 2001 and 2008, as well as two silvers from 2012 and 2016.
