Pejovic: Montenegro will receive 37,5 million euros from IPA 2016

Pejovic said, at the presentation of the draft of the national program of IPA 2016 to non-government organizations, which was organized by Ministry of foreign affairs and European integrations today, that out of 22.5 million euros for projects in environmental protection and climate action 15.6 million will be spent, and for competitiveness and innovations close to seven million euros. 

He emphasized that the priority in environmental protection is strengthening capacities for application and implementation of the legal framework from EU in chapter 27. 

Projects in this, as he emphasized, should contribute to strengthening capacities in the sector of the environmental protection and climate action, harmonization of national laws with legal framework of the EU, planning in the area of the environment and climate changes in terms of projects lists, national strategies and plans of implementation in accordance with EU regulations, as well as to empower resources for implementation and monitoring the policies in the area of the environmental protection and climate changes. 

When it comes to competitiveness and innovations, Pejovic said that the priority of programming in this sector is the support to the development of competitiveness and strengthening capacities for innovations in Montenegro. 

Presentation was attended by representatives of the Delegation of the European Union in Montenegro, departmental institutions and representatives of NGO sector in Montenegro.
