Porto Montenegro: Flights from Britain influenced the number and structure of guests

EasyJet expect to transport 15 000 passengers from Manchester to Tivat this summer.

The statement from Porto Montenegro claims that flights from Britain have influenced the number and structure of guests who arrived in Porto Montenegro during April, and indications for May and June are extremely positive.

General director of company Adriatic Marinas Oliver Corlette said that these types of strategic movements are of great importance for Montenegrin tourism, especially out of the season.

“These days in Porto Montenegro we see interesting visitors from Britain, who arrived on direct flights from Manchester, and who are enchanted with our nautical village and Bay of Kotor. They represent a new wave of clients that will happily return to Montenegro. These types of direct flights, from other destinations as well, have significantly influenced the popularization of Montenegro with worldly clientele who likes to travel. Direct flights, without waiting in the airports, make a difference when you choose your holiday spot. It would be significant for whole Montenegro to have many of these flights, from EU cities as well as from Middle East“, he added.

Julia Word, director of hotel Regent Porto Montenegro said that this hotel has seen a rise of guests from Britain.

“Today already, and it is only the middle of April, 55% of guests are from the United Kingdom. Besides increased number of reservations for the season, our restaurants saw an increase that we have notice on March 27th when the first flight of EasyJet has landed on the Tivat Airport. We see EasyJet as a great promotion for Montenegro on the market of Britain and as a great air bridge connecting two countries”, she stated.

Sybil and Raymond M. who spent 7 days in Porto Montenegro said that they have felt as though they were at home.

“We are happy to have discovered the new destination and we will recommend it all our friends. This is a great possibility – to sit in an airplane and be on the airport that is only 15 minutes away from Kotor, the UNESCO city, that we have wanted to visited since it was listed on Lonely Planet as a city to see in 2016. We stayed in hotel Regent, that is, without a doubt, a top-notch hotel. Aside from great nature, we are enchanted with people. Everyone we made contact with during our stay was extremely kind and hospitable. We will be happy to return as we are only three hours away by plane”, this couple said.

According to Ali Gayward, commercial director of EasyJet, Tivat Airport is the closest to Kotor, that was named a number one city to visit by Lonely Planet.

“Tivat is a home to Porto Montenegro, new, modern marina for superyachts and it represents a coastal community made of residences, hotels and restaurants, shopping spots and entertainment content,” he said.
