PzP secretary undetained, Konatar in reprimand

Two of them were arrested on Monday night during routine control of Podgorica Police close to Streljački centar “Ljubović”. In a car Audi A6 (NK CC555), 30.000 dollars and 17.700 EUR were found. Kontar had 2.500 EUR on him.

“Based on criminal forensics, there is reasonable doubt that they committed a crime by doing unlawful conversion of USD to EUR, without necessary permits for this activity. We confiscated 30.000 USD and 17.700 EUR”, Police stated.

Unofficially, Šćepanović admitted that he exchanged USD three times recently. Aside from these 30.000 USD, he converted on separate occasions 30.000 USD and 20.000 USD with Konatar.

Dnevne Novine daily learned that the investigation is ongoing in order to determine the origin of dollars and whether they were wired through banks or illegally.

Šćepanović said that he received the money from Dejan Vujisić, director of PzP, in order to exchange it to EUR and pay the observers PzP hired in the elections.

Konatar confirmed that he was supposed to exchange 30.000 USD for Šćepanović.

Based on DN information, Vujisić denied that the money was meant for observers and that it has anything to do with PzP. He said those are his personal assets, and that he asked Šćepanović to convert them in order to pay a debt to certain Miomir Nikolić from Tivat, who borrowed him this money for the construction of his house in Donja Gorica in Podgorica.
