Rogozin invited Knežević and Bulatović to Moscow

This would be a second visit to Moscow from Knežević, who was there on the same occasion in the middle of November, when his host was Russian Duma.

An official invitation to Knežević and Bulatović was sent by Russian parliamentary party Rodina which was founded and financed by Rogozin. Rodina is a coalition partner of the United Party, that is a collaborator of Putin and Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

Invitation letter states that the representatives of DNP will sign a memorandum on collaboration with Rodina and exchange opinions on current political climate in the region.

In a statement to Pobjeda, president of DNP Milan Knežević confirmed that they will visit Moscow from Wednesday to Friday, where they will sign a memorandum with a party founded by Dmitry Rogozin.

“I see nothing unusual or spectacular in the fact that DNP and Rodina will sign an agreement on collaboration, because this was our announcement when we last visited Moscow. We are honored to develop collaboration with political subjects in Russia that support our political agenda of military neutrality of Montenegro, that would be guaranteed by Russia and NATO”, Knežević said to Pobjeda.

According to unofficial information, the meetings with representatives of Russian Duma and Russian parties should further develop an idea proposed by Knežević, about forming an alliance of neutral Balkan countries.

On anti NATO protest in Danilovgrad, Knežević said that this alliance should be formed by Montenegro, Serbia, Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The support to this idea was given by former vice president of Koštunica’s DSS and current president of Serbian People’s Party Nenad Popović, who said that this initiative could be possible, taking into account that Serbia and Bosnia have nothing against this idea.

Knežević added that the idea of alliance of neutral Balkan countries is well accepted in the region.

“This idea is the strongest guarantee that the independence of Montenegro will be preserved, as well as economic power of everyone. It is our responsibility to respect majority of Montenegro’s citizens who are against joining NATO and that is why we think that such ideas are the best in order to preserve national interests of our country. As far as Đukanović’s threats caused by the idea of military neutrality are concerned, I can only say to him that I shall not give up a democratic fight against Montenegro integration into NATO”, Knežević concluded.

The master of political scandal

Vice President of Russian Government Dmitry Rogozin caused a political scandal in the December last year when he said that Montenegro would come to regret joining NATO. Rogozin explained that he was not talking about the people but about the country’s leadership.

“I am sorry about everything that goes on in Montenegro. He will come to regret this. Not the people, but the small group of decision makers”, Rogozin said.

The public saw this statement as a direct threat to country’s top people. This is not the only political incident of Dmitry Rogozin, who used his January visit to Serbia to visit Hague suspect Vojislav Šešelj, against all diplomatic concerns.

Serbia’s Government saw this as a provocation to the efforts of Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić.

Rogozin posted on his official Facebook page photographs of Hague suspects Radovan Karadžić and Ratko Mladić, and a letter that Mladić sent to him in January of 2014.
