When he met Zuma, Šćepanović sent messages of friendship for the people of South Africa, and demonstrated full readiness and openness of Montenegro’s Government when it comes to strengthening bilateral relationships, furthering communication and cooperation, based on mutual interests.
“President Zuma was pleased with Montenegro’s decision to name an ambassador in his country, which was seen as an act of friendship between two countries. He said that Montenegro, although small, plays a major role in the region and internationally, especially in the UN, and he congratulated our results so far”, it was said in the MInistry of Foreign Affairs.
Šćepanović pointed to his experience so far, saying that there is a real possibility of further improvement of two countries’ relations, especially in implementation of the new development agenda and sustainability by 2030.
Zuma congratulated Montenegro on its upcoming celebration of independence and underlined his country’s desire for cooperation at all levels, especially in economy.
“We talked about tourism, energy, environment, communications and technologies, agriculture, maritime – as these are important components of sustainable development”, it was said in the Ministry.
