Regardless of the fact that there are holydays in Montenegro, the opposition representatives should work because their agreement on positions in the government is expected to be made soon. SNP MP Aleksandar Damjanovic refused to be the minister of finance and informed his party about that.
Leaders of Demos and URA Civic Movement, Miodrag Lekic and Zarko Rakcevic, earlier sent a note to the presidents of SNP and SDP, Srdjan Milic and Ranko Krivokapic, asking them to be responsible and agree about opposition posts in the government of electoral trust. Demos and URA reminded that the interim government should be elected on 4 May. URA and Demos claim that SNP and SDP are confusing the public: SNP by asking two minister seats and SDP by letting others take its responsibility.
Lekic and Rakcevic stated that the best solution would be if the four opposition parties had one ministerial position each. They also suggest SDP and SNP consider sharing the positions of a deputy prime minister, agriculture minister and two minister assistants in the ministries of health care and education.
Thus, Demos would get the Ministry of Interior with Goran Danilovic as its head. URA proposed Boris Maric as a candidate for the minister of labour and social welfare.
For the time being, SNP has a candidate for the minister of agriculture – Radivoje Rasovic.
The names of the candidates for deputy ministers of education and health care have not been mentioned yet.
The Positive Montenegro’s position has not been clear yet. The opposition parties reiterated that PCG’s representatives would not be included in their list of candidates for the government. Thus, the possibility of an agreement with DPS remains, since the prime minister earlier said it would not be fair to leave PCG out of the government.
The session of the Parliament, at which a special law allowing ultimate application of the agreement on free and fair elections, the composition of the government and confidence in the Parliament Speaker Ranko Krivokapic will be discussed, has been scheduled for 4 May. According to earlier announcements, it should be completed by Friday evening.
