Tourists opt for Montenegro instead of Turkey

She said that, given the current situation in the world, tourists also want to know they are choosing a safe holiday destination.

“This year will record a drastic drop in the number of tourists who will visit Turkey, because of recent events in Istanbul and Ankara, and according to our information, Russian tourists, who are the most dominant in Turkey, canceled many arrangements and are instead opting for destinations such as Spain, Greece, Croatia and of course, Montenegro. New flights and early booking speak in favor of our expectations to achieve growth in tourist traffic this year. This season will be very successful”, said the director of NTO.

She said she expects the previous record season to continue the positive trend, stressing that Montenegro does not rely on weakness of others, but on the strength of its brand, its affordable prices and many interesting activities offered to all guests.

The offer for this season has already been promoted in Vienna, Istanbul, Belgrade, Stuttgart, Nuremberg, Berlin, Moscow, Kiev, Baku, and other addresses.

“We are also promoting Montenegro in China”, said Radak-Kukavičić adding that the Chinese are known as major consumers and buyers of everything branded.

Radak-Kukavičić also announced negotiations with Israeli company “Israir Airlines” to open lines Tel Aviv – Podgorica and Tel Aviv – Tivat.

“Flights are supposed to start in late April, introducing two rotations from MAy. As for the other airlines, Ryanair has year-round flights from Brussels and London twice a week. An agreement was signed with the company EasyJet flights from Manchester, which will start in late March and end in November. Flights from London start on June 16. While EasyJet will focus on traffic with Tivat airport, Ryanair will be based on Podgorica. After 30 years, the company will fly from TUI Netherlands from 13 May to 26 September, between Amsterdam and Tivat, twice a week”, said the director of NTO.
