In an interview to Pobjeda she said that the invitation is the proof of years of efforts in all the segments of Montenegrin society.
“USA wants to see Europe united, free and in peace. We believe that Montenegro joining NATO will help create long term stability in Balkans and in the world”, Uyehara said.
She said that American Senate will try to ratify the Protocol as soon as possible.
“However, the length of the process depends on many factors, including the date the Protocol gets submitted to the Senate. Two-thirds of the Senate must vote to ratify the Protocol”, Uyehara said.
