VIDEO: Jasavic will check why investors from Russia and Qatar do not implement their projects

Jasavic also met the President of the Municipality of Tivat Snezana Matijevic and her associates. She also visited the Lustica Bay complex built by the Orascom company in the Krtole area.

After the meetings, it was concluded that the benefits provided to investors will create significant number of jobs and high incomes on long-term.

Despite the presence of big foreign investors such as Porto Montenegro, Orascom and Qatari Diar, Tivat has the highest unemployment rate in the Bay of Kotor and one of the largest ones in the coastal region of Montenegro.

“Montenegro does not have much space, but it has to be well used. We must provide good conditions for efficient development to both foreign and domestic investors in order to create the conditions for job creation and paying relevant taxes and social welfare contributions to the state. It is very important that the local government and the residents of Tivat identified development in investment plan as a priority and the fact that investors in Tivat were welcomed in a civilised manner, which is a kind of incentive for investors to continue investing in our country”, Jasavic said, adding that the smallest municipality in Montenegro has enough room to be valorised.

Jasavic said that the government expected Qatari Diar to present its position related to the plans and implementation of the project on Plavi Horizonti by the end of the month.

“The construction of the promised resort worth €250m in that marvellous bay has not started yet, although the Qatari investor purchased it from HTP Primorje six years ago and the government and the municipality have fulfilled all the requirements of Qatari Diar”, she said.

Jasavic promised to personally engage in resolving the status of the Russian investment company Metropol related to Sveti Marko island, pointing out that the government and the municipality’s activities in this area must be more intensive in order to check why the implementation of the project stalled”.
