VIDEO: Montenegro opened two new chapters, Ivanovic: Success crown for hard work

“Today’s opening of chapters is a recognition and support to pro-European politics of Montenegro and government led by prime minister Djukanovic. Their significance is even bigger at this time of great challenges for our partners in EU where some of the big issues of the future of EU are being resolved. Also, today’s opening is a clear sign of support to those who work. This is a great success and acrown of the hard work of a young but very ambitious team. Persistence that we both showed in this diffcult times is an indicator of the strength of our partnership and big trust that was built through specific results, and not empty promises. This is why this high level of support to politics of expansion and trust that was given to Montenegro additionally binds us to continue with good dynamics of reforms and process of accession”, emphasized Ivanovic. 

He added that benefits from opening of these two chapters will be felt by all Montenegrin citizens. 

While speaking about the importance of the negotiating process in chapter 13, Ivanovic emphasized that by entering EU market, Montenegrin fishermen and other entrpreneurs in sector of fishing will get access to European funds, which will help them to increase their productivity, create additional jobs, decrease negative influence on the environment and improve their own life quality. 

“I want to express gratitude to my colleagues in Ministry of agriculture, representatives of other Montenegrin institutions and experts who contributed to this. This is a common success. Our common, dynamic and continuous effort is what led to opening new chapters. I expect us to continue like this, to supress individual primitive interests and take care of the interest of all the citizens and the country of Montenegro”, he said. 

Chapters 12 and 13 are in a group of the most difficult chapters because for their opening it was necessary to meet the so called inital criteria, it was said in the announcement.
