VIDEO: Public hearing on Draft Law on Freedom of Religion extended

“Unwillingness of certain structures to participate in the public debate has been understood as a lack of democratic capacities and their attempt to defend their anti-systemic, monopolistic position”, the Minister for Human and Minority Rights, Suad Numanovic, said after the Government’s session.

He stressed he was aware that many individuals had been waiting for a chance to express their view on the Draft Law, but they, unfortunately, had not be able to do that.

“Therefore, we give them a chance for other form of participation in the public debate and contribute to the quality of the drafting the Law,” he said.

Public hearings on the Draft Law were not held in Bijelo Polje and Kotor, whereas the meeting in Podgorica was held, but citizens had limited access to it.
