“The plan has been made and I expect that RTCG Council will unanimously accept it. At the moment, I cannot talk about the details”, Vojvodić said for Dnevne Novine daily.
President of the Council, Ivan Mitrovic, confirmed for DN that he will convene the meeting in a few days. Mitrovic had earlier told DN that the RTCG has become the subject of political trade and that he will not allow the Council to be involved in political games.
The last session of the Council was very turbulent exactly because of the political pressure to dismiss RTCG editorial team, headed by Ms. Radojka Rutović, but the majority in the Council was not in favor. Instead, they asked Vojvodic to make staffing and organizational solutions that will improve the quality of the news program.
Political games involving RTCG and the unprecedented pressure on this media house have sparked controversy among the members of the Council, so that at the last session, Mimo Drašković did not appear at all, while Milan Radovic left outraged by the fact that the report on the Council’s work appeared in Vijesti daily before it was even seen or considered by this body. He called it a scandal and immorality.
Dismissal of leading people of RTCG have been and remain a requirement of the opposition in order to agree and sign the Agreement on fair elections.
