Vujovic resigned; Maric is leaving the government too; Mugosa still hesitant

According to reliable information obtained by Pobjeda, the minister of labour and social welfare Boris Maric will follow Vujovic’s decision, whereas the future status of the minister of agriculture and rural development, Budimir Mugosa, is completely uncertain.

The three non-party ministers in the government had earlier stated that they would announce their decisions after all parties of “troika” decide on their further participation in the government of electoral trust.

URA Civic Movement decide to leave the government on 4 August, whereas two days ago Demos’s main decision-making body stated it would stay in the government. SDP will make its decision on 22 August. As Pobjeda earlier carried, Ranko Krivokapic’s party will likely remain in the government of electoral trust.

“Vujovic and Maric entered the government as non-party figures after they had been formally invited by URA. Therefore they will respect the decision of this political entity. Those are simply political and moral principles”, several sources from URA told Pobjeda.

Deputy prime minister Milorad Vujovic neither confirmed nor denied Pobjeda’s information that he would resign.

“I think we needed more time, but in any case, I see the decision of the opposition troika, which proposed me for this position, as my personal decision and I hope it is to be in the interest of the citizens of Montenegro”, Vujovic said.

The minister of labour and social welfare Boris Maric did not want to comment on allegations he would resign.

“I’ll wait for the decision of all the parties. You will be informed on everything in the future”, Maric said in a brief statement.

The future status of the minister of agriculture and rural development, Budimir Mugosa, is completely uncertain, Pobjeda carried.

“During consultations with opposition ministers, Mugosa said he would resign if Vujovic and Maric do so. In the meantime, the Lumpy skin disease appeared, so it is possible to further postpone his decision to abandon the government, but not for long’, Pobjeda’s source said.

Mugosa was not available for a comment.
