He said in an article in today’s Pobjeda headlined “Playing without the ball” that at first glance, URA’s move looks like playing “withouth the vision”, a common phrase by famous old football expert Miljan Miljanic which he used for teams whose players run a lot but without any results. Only, Zarko Rakcevic is not an inexperienced player and he wouldn’t play the game if he didn’t think about the end result. That’s why it should be carefully examined why URA decided to leave the government of electoral trust?
As Djuranovic says, motives for the decision of URA to leave the government of electoral trust should be primarily searched for in pre-election positioning of this movement.
Involvement in the executive power was supposed to increase rating of the civic movement URA, which is significant for the movement which is not even registered as a political party, and was a part of the parlimentary dialogue and which became a part of the executive authorities, although they didn’t even exist up until 2012.
It was supposed to, but it didn’t. Big expectations from opposition fans quickly dropped, no spectacular abuse discoveries have happened, and Djukanovic’s government didn’t stop to function…
That is why Rakcevic made a move for which he thinks that can give him double win: to bring back his party to “true opposition” from the position of Djukanovic’s partners, and at the same time to risae atop of the “troika”. It seems like playing on the safe card.
If Demos and SDP leave the government, it will be seen as if URA had “opened their eyes”. If Demos and SDP don’t follow in their footsteps, URA can campain as the only civic opposition and try and snatch some supporters primarily from SDP.
„Looking it from this angle, it is clear that Rakcevic and his team believe that they didn’t make a sudden move, but the right move at the right time. At least for the future of the civic movement URA”, concluded Djuranovic.
