Maric also announced continued cooperation with non-governmental organisations to improve mechanisms for recognising functions of civil society and strengthen public policies.

As the ministry stated, the agreement on free and fair elections was also discussed at the meeting.

Maric said that an increase in the transparency of the ministry and formalising procedures for receiving citizens’ requests through the reform of the administrative procedure, was a priority in its work. He also announced improving efficiency and effectiveness of public administration.

The second part of the meeting was dedicated to the Regional Housing Programme, under which Maric announced the preparation of a detailed analysis of vulnerable people in need of housing, in order to provide support for them.

“The Regional Housing Programme represents a joint initiative among Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatian and Serbia supported by the European Union and other donors. Among other things, the programme will provide sustainable housing solutions for 74,000 refugees and internally displaced persons. The construction of 276 housing units and a retirement home in Pljevlja is underway in Montenegro”, the ministry stated.
