A day of mourning declared in several Montenegrin towns

The first Covid-related death in Montenegro was recorded on this day last year. The virus has killed 1.199 people ever since. Therefore, a day of mourning was declared in Podgorica, Cetinje, Kolašin, Mojkovac, Ulcinj, Danilovgrad, Šavnik, Plav, Petnjica, Gusinje, Rožaje, Pljevlja, Nikšić, Bar, Bijelo Polje and Herceg Novi in memory of the victims killed by the coronavirus.

Majority of Montenegrin municipalities backed the initiative of the President of Montenegro, Mr Milo Đukanović, to declare 22 March a day of mourning and national remembrance for coronavirus victims.

The Montenegrin flag is flown at half-mast on the President’s building today.
