Abazović and Borovinić Bojović change their minds

Today, neither 250,000 doses, nor 100,000, 10,000 or 5,000 doses of coronavirus vaccines agreed directly with a manufacturer or the government of the producer’s country are to arrive in Montenegro. The vaccines that Montenegro is to get are 2,000 doses of the Russian vaccine donated by Serbia. We underline, DONATED, because it was a “forbidden” word in the new Government in order to “prove” that vaccine donations are not possible. However, when Serbia and Mr Aleksandar Vučić donate the vaccines, then they may or may not come directly from the manufacturer or the government of the country where the vaccine is produced.

Last night, Deputy PM Dritan Abazović thanked Serbia for donating vaccines to Montenegro.

Minister of Health Jelena Borovinić Bojović was most “worried” about earlier offers. She says that 2,000 doses of these donated vaccines that are to arrive today from Serbia, are a top achievement of “this Government and herself”.

Mr Abazović and Ms Borovinić Bojović attacked possible donations earlier, while there still is an alarming increase in the number of the dead and the infected with coronavirus, saying that it was just politicking. The public, perhaps rightly, comments today that this is a political move in the run-up to the elections in Nikšić.
