Abazović: Economic path next year likely to be difficult

Dritan Abazović

Next year will be very difficult for the Montenegrin economy because it’s uncertain what will happen with the tourist season, and the impact of this year’s pandemic on the economy is huge, Deputy Prime Minister in the new government, Mr Dritan Abazovic, said for the China Media Group (CMG).

Mr Abazović said he expected the vaccination of the world’s population to start soon, and hoped that people would be allowed to travel again thus contributing to the higher income from tourism next year.

He also hoped Montenegro would preserve its financial stability with the aid of the international financial institutions.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro has also said that cooperation within the ‘17+1’ initiative approves of all mechanisms that contribute to the mobility of the economy, and there’s a possibility to include more international factors in boosting Montenegro’s gross domestic product.

He pointed out that Montenegro should have best relations with all countries, especially the greatest forces such as China.

“The new government should be committed to that cooperation. Therefore, we must seek models that would serve the interests of both countries.”
