Abazovic: It’s not true that Europol will suspend exchange of information with MNE

“It is not true that Europol will suspend the exchange of information with Montenegro. Anyone who knows how Europol works could not interpret that information as relevant”, says PM Dritan Abazovic, commenting on allegations in some media that Europol will suspend the exchange of information and transcripts with Montenegro. He has told reporters that he has not heard a valid argument in favor of the Open Balkans not being good for Montenegro.

“Anyone who thinks and hopes to escape the hand of justice because Europol will take some action has a right to it. Hope dies last. Anyone who knows how Europol works could not interpret that information as relevant”, Abazovic has pointed out.

He has pointed out that the common goal of Europol was “the fight against organized crime”.

Speaking about going to Ohrid for the Open Balkans Summit, where he was invited by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Abazovic has said that he will go.

“I will go as prime minister. I think that any regional initiative, which can accelerate integration, is something we need to accept. If anyone has an idea to make a substitute for European integration, we are not interested. But realistically, I have not heard a valid argument in favor of the Open Balkans not being good for Montenegro. If it is not good for a party or a politician, let them say so. But I have not heard a valid argument when it comes to the state”, the prime minister has said.
