Abazovic: We’ll raze all illegal buildings to ground, no one will humiliate state anymore

The demolition of illegal gravel extraction facilities in the Moraca river-bed has begun, and strong police forces are also on the ground. The Montenegro Petrol plant on the Moraca River is being demolished. Outgoing PM Dritan Abazovic says that they are determined to put an end to the construction mafia.

“We will raze all illegal buildings, not only here, but throughout Montenegro. The construction mafia no longer has the ability to compete with the citizen’s interest”, Abazovic has said in a statement to the media.

Given that the Government has started the demolition without papers, and risks lawsuits, Abazovic says he has no problem with that.

He has again accused the City of Podgorica of being responsible for the illegal exploitation of gravel.

“I call for actions to be taken against the City of Podgorica. They wanted to cheat the system, they wanted to allow assembly facilities to exploit gravel illegally”, Abazovic has stressed.

The Minister of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism, Ana Novakovic Djurovic has announced that Montenegro Petrol is being demolished, and that there will be demolitions in other municipalities as well.

The Minister of Agriculture, Vladimir Jokovic, has reiterated that the Government is determined to put an end to the illegal exploitation of sand and the devastation of Montenegro.

The Minister of the Interior, Filip Adzic, has said that there are no privileged people in Montenegro.
