In an interview for Pobjeda daily, Executive Director of the Airports of Montenegro, Mr Danilo Orlandić, said he was very satisfied with the achieved results this year, and announced that it was going to be even more successful than the last year’s one. He also said that the growth trend in the Montenegrin airports continued this year as well, and that the Airports of Montenegro welcomed 1.7 million passengers in 2019. He expected to host over 2.6 million tourists by the end of the year. Growth in the number of passengers and airplanes resulted in the growth in revenues, which right now amounts to over €21 million.
When asked whether he was satisfied with the figures, Mr Orlandić told he was extremely satisfied with the achieved results, and the growth in the number of flights. “Data clearly show how much we have done to improve the aircraft availability, increase the number of flights and establish new partnerships. The fact that we are going to welcome a million more passengers this year than it was the case in 2015 is extraordinary! According to the estimations of the airlines, both Montenegrin airports will be hosting over 2.6 million passengers by the end of the year.”
On the company’s financial results and indicators, he said: “I have already said I’m satisfied with the achieved results, including the financial ones. We will have the accurate data after the summer season finishes even though we record growth of over 10 per cent already now.”
Mr Orlandić continued: “This year, just like every other, the Airports of Montenegro will deliver good business performance. We are a stable, profitable and above all, profitable, company. We regularly settle all our obligations towards staff, creditors, suppliers, and greatly contribute to the state budget.”
Great interest of the Arab airlines
“We are currently negotiating with several not just European but the world’s companies. I’m sure we will manage to reach an agreement. The Arab countries showed great interest and I think we’ll manage to establish connection with that market as well, “he noted.
