Suzana Pribilović

Decision on severance payments for the termination of the employment relationship by mutual agreement of the employees in public sector has been prepared.

Those who terminate employment by mutual agreement are entitled to severance pay in the amount of 12 gross salaries.

According to the data collected by the Ministry of Public Administration, 1.153 persons at central level would like to terminate employment and 826 persons at local level.

The Decision will be discussed in the Government meeting

Minister Ms Suzana Pribilović has said in an interview for CdM portal earlier that the objective of such measures is reduction of the overall employment, but only that. Also, they want to redirect people from public to private sector.

“We see great opportunities in the establishment of new enterprises too. With the Ministry of Economy and Investment and Development Fund, we are working on the package of measures of active employment of those who are interested in the private sector. It’s very important that we defined incentive measures for the termination of employment by mutual agreement such as, severance payments, some package of measures for active employment, affordable loans and alike. As you can see, we don’t want anybody to remain jobless. We want to establish efficient public administration which will be providing high-quality services to its citizens”, said Ms Pribilović.

Public administration optimization is a process of bringing the public administration in to the condition of its full functionality and effectiveness.

The objective is to provide support to such administration which would satisfy the citizens’ needs in the best possible way, while relieving the burden on state and municipal budget.
