US Embassy: Montenegrin citizens can freely use existing visas

Citizens of Montenegro who have a valid US visa can still to use them and the application procedure for obtaining a non-immigration visa in Podgorica hasn’t changed, the US Embassy in Podgorica told CdM.

“Yes” – it was the embassy’s response to CdM’s question whether our visas can still be used. The embassy also explained that president Donald Trump’s regulation temporarily suspending the entry into the United States applies only to citizens of seven countries: Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Iran, Somalia, Libya and Yemen.

But:

“The embassy continues to receive guidance on the application of this regulation,” reads the embassy’s response.

However, the embassy was unable to comment on certain allegations that US universities advise students from abroad (including citizens of Montenegro) that they should “take the risk that the rules are being changed while they are travelling?”

Asked whether to expect extension of the deadline for visa issuing and whether the procedure will be more rigorous, the embassy said:

“The application procedure for obtaining a non-immigration visa in Podgorica hasn’t changed,”

Tramp decree banning citizens of Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Syria, Sudan, Libya and Somalia from entering the US for 90 days has caused massive protests and condemnation in the US and around the world.

US President believes that this regulation and the implementation ban on US program for the reception of refugees for 120 days, which was introduced in the same time, protect the state from possible attacks by extremists.
