American judge and former FBI director is the new member of UCB Committee

New member of the Committee of the Universal Capital Bank is going to be Louis J. Freeh, former Director of the American Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and former judge of the USA District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Judge Freer served as Director of the FBI from 1993 to 2001.

Committee of the UCB and Freeh will be in charge of supervising policies and procedures that are being carried out within the domain of money laundering and financing terrorism, compliance of the bank with the domestic and international regulations and the best possible practice.

Judge Freeh, together with the members of the Committee, will strive to enhance activities aimed at protection and improvement of the bank’s reputation, as well as its relations with the relevant institutions in Montenegro and abroad.

“UCB has submitted to the Central Bank the request for the consent for the appointment of judge Freeh and an affirmative response is being expected in that regard”, reports “Pobjeda”.

Judge Freeh had built a very distinguished career as FBI special agent, Assistant United States Attorney, and as a United States District Judge. He has also been performing the function of the Senior legal consultant of a bank. He is the founder and managing partner in the New York law office Freeh Sporkin & Sullivan, president of the Freeh Group International Solutions, global risk management company seated in Wilmington, Delaware.

His readiness to accept this appointment speaks of the capability of the bank to attract the best possible professionals from all around the world. Appointment of Freeh will mean that the operation of the UCB is in accordance with the highest international banking standards.
