The American Vexxon Group is interested in constructing the remaining two sections of the highway, from Mateševo to Andrijevica and from Andrijevica to Boljare. According to unofficial information of Pobjeda daily, the Memorandum on Cooperation with the Montenegrin govt should be signed soon. The conditions announced by this US group are better than the offers received so far.
In addition to this unofficial information, the only official one was published by the Government of Montenegro in the beginning of May, when the Montenegrin delegation, consisting of transport and maritime affairs minister Osman Nurković and MP Ervin Ibrahimović, were bound to meet with the representatives of Vexxon in Washington. The Government’s information stated that Nurković and Ibrahimović would hold meetings from 6-10 May this year.
The Vexxon Group expressed interest in potential cooperation with the Montenegrin government on the implementation of projects and activities referring to infrastructure&service improvements and economic growth as well. Financing would be based on donation, by allocating all the necessary resources for the implementation of works proposed by the Montenegrin Government, with the obligation to carry out all approved projects within determined deadlines and budget.
Given that a positive impact on Montenegro’s economy was expected, the delegation traveled to the US to take part in meetings with the Vexxon Group and to align and consequently sign the agreement, revealed the govt’s statement published after the session on 4 May 2018.
