Americans interested in the Airports

American companies are very interested in the forthcoming projects in Montenegro. With the knowledge and technologies they have, they can contribute to the development of transport infrastructure, said the Ambassador of the USA to Montenegro, Ms Judy Rising Reinke. In the meeting with the Minister of Transport, Mr Osman Nurković, she said that she wanted to give the American companies a chance.

Ms Raising Reinke said she was interested in the Airports in Podgorica and Tivat. Mr Nurković gave the Ambassador all the details related to it and pointed out that the Airports in Montenegro had enormous, untapped potential.

He added that there were many companies interested in investing in the Airports.

Representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs said that Mr Nurković had acquainted the Ambassador with concrete projects in Montenegro. He emphasized the construction of the first highway section – Smokovac-Mateševo.

“Mr Nurković thinks that completion of the first highway section is very important for the further development of Montenegro. With the construction of the other two sections and their connection, the highway would become e generator of Montenegrin economic development, particularly northern part of the state”, said the representatives of the Ministry.

The interlocutors also spoke about the Adriatic-Ionian highway connecting Montenegro with Croatia and other EU states.

“The focus here will be put on the bypasses around seaside towns and the objective is to avoid jams, especially during tourist seasons. The first section will be a bypass around Budva”, reads the statement.

Minister Nurković also shared some information about the Port in Bar, which represents a great potential.
