Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral, Mr Amfilohije, said to Mr Duško Marković that he accepted his proposal for the meeting at expert level scheduled for Wednesday, 11 March, in Vila Gorica in Podgorica. Metropolitanate has also formed its own expert team, headed by Mr Velibor Džomić.
In his reply, Mr Amfilohije pointed out that the Metropolitanate had expected the call for dialogue earlier.
“We need to express our concerns over the fact that the discriminatory law has come into force and that specific repressive measures against clergy have been implemented. Also, radical anti-church public performances of the highest state officials accusing the Church of the alleged anti-state activity should not be neglected either. That’s not good atmosphere for dialogue”, Mr Amfilohije said.
Metropolitan added that the expert team was in charge of holding talks about the Law, whereas the Episcopal council will be in charge of making final decisions.
