Anti-vaxxers likely to face fines

The number of children who received their dose of the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine has increased by 11.25%, compared to the same period last year, and the rise has been recorded in all generations, suggests the Immunization Annual Report, developed by the Institute for Public Health.

Health inspectors of the Administration for Inspection Affairs, on the other hand, filed 85 requests for initiation of misdemeanor procedure against parents who refused compulsory childhood vaccination.

“Podgorica residents mostly refuse vaccination of their children, followed by those from Nikšić, Berane, Herceg Novi and Bar,” the Administration for Inspection Affairs told Dnevne Novine, a daily.

The Administration reminded of fines the citizens will have to pay if they refuse vaccination of their children, ranging from 100 to 2,000 euro.
