Armed Forces of Montenegro assisted in the construction of over 100 km of roads

Thanks to the partnership with the Armed Forces, we’ve got over 100 kilometers of new roads, most of which are already asphalted. That means new life for the areas that were dead, said the Mayor of Podgorica, Mr Ivan Vuković. Together with Minister of Defense, Mr Predrag Bošković, he visited works on the widening Rogami-Đurkovići road.

Mayor pointed out that Capital City Administration was very satisfied with the cooperation with Armed Forces of Montenegro.

“We already notice positive effects. People are coming back to the countryside, agricultural production is booming again. Widening and asphalting of the road from Rogami to Drezga is the most important project of its type in the territory of Piperi. It will be the most important road in the area”, said Mr Vuković.

Minister Bošković expressed satisfaction with the works. He stressed that it was only one of the activities undertaken by the Armed Forces in Montenegro in cooperation with the Capital.

“This proves we are capable to be at several places all at once, to assist civil population and local self-government in reconstruction or construction of new infrastructure. Armed Forces of Montenegro took part in numerous activities and contributed to creating better conditions for local population. In the forthcoming period, some other municipalities will be able to achieve better communication with towns”, said Mr Bošković.

Minister thanked residents of Piperi for the support and said he hoped that incoming joint activities would be implemented in an efficient way. He thanked Mr Vuković for the cooperation the Ministry had with the Capital.

President of the local community Stijena, in Piperi, Mr Rajko Stojanović, thanked Ministry of defense, Armed Forces of Montenegro and Capital City for the engagement to improve living conditions in Piperi.

As Ministry reported, engineer company of the Armed Forces of Montenegro started today works on widening Rogami-Đurkovići road.

“Residents will have a new road, five meters wide”.

Efforts of the Armed Forces engineer company put in the improvement of infrastructure in Montenegro is the continuation of successful cooperation with local self-governments.

“In the first half 2019, Army has reconstructed around 1810 km of road infrastructure in Montenegro. Reconstruction of village roads in Kolašin is under way. Works on nine roads in Mojkovac are being carried out as well. Works in Cetinje, Žabljak and Bijelo Polje are expected to begin soon”, pointed out representatives of the Ministry.
