Around 20.000 tourists expected to visit Žabljak this season

Žabljak

This season we expect around 20.000 tourists as Durmitor is becoming more and more popular tourist destination. There’s an evident increase in tourist arrivals from Germany and France, said the Director of the TO Žabljak, Mrs Vanja Krgović-Šarović.

She points out that tourist offer is very diverse this year.

“We have rafting in our offer, zip line, canyoning, jeep safari, mountaineering, hiking, bird watching, ropeway riding on Savin Kuk with panoramic sightseeing included, boat ride on the Black Lake, Durmitor Ring panoramic tour… There are going to be musical concerts, Green Film Festival, promotion of Durmitor food, Days of Mountain Flowers and many sport events”, says Mrs Krgović-Šarović.

Apart from accommodation in ten hotels in Žabljak, there’s also a great number of private accommodation capacities – villas, apartments and rooms.

“Country tourism is boosting. What we need is a hotel with greater accommodation capacities. Existing hotels are smaller, and that might be a problem when it comes to the accommodation of big, organized groups of tourists”, says Mrs Krgović-Šarović.

She adds that transport infrastructure is good and Žabljak has good connection with other Montenegrin municipalities.

“Local road network is very good. All villages are connected to the town via asphalt road”, says Mrs Krgović-Šarović.
