Around 60.000 tourists are currently staying in Budva

Budva

There are currently 60.000 of registered tourists in Budva, which is  3% more than in the same period last year. Most tourists come from Russia and Serbia, and then come Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina… More and more tourists from Germany, France and Scandinavian countries come to the metropolis of Montenegrin tourism. Also, an interesting fact to note is that there is an increase in the number of tourists from Turkey, and our neighbor, Croatia.

Acting director if the Tourist Organization of Budva, Mladen Franović, said in the interview for CdM that they are very satisfied with how this season started, since there were from 20-50% more tourists than in the previous year. The post season is expected to be just as successful, which is the objective of all business entities.

“The number of tourists who visited Montenegro in May was a record in the last ten years. We’ve noticed the opening of new markets, such as Israel and China, and I believe they are going to be very important for us”, says Franović.

However, there are still problems the tourists are facing.

“Our small town and its services are constantly working in order to satisfy all the needs of citizens and tourists. Not everything can be ideal. We have to conceive and plan carefully periods before and after the main season and develop the strategy that would attract as many tourists as possible in these parts of the season. We really try to eliminate complaints as fast as we can, to keep the town clean, to provide new parking lots and so on”, said Franović.
