Bar-Boljare motorway the largest development initiative in Podgorica’s northern local communities

Mayor of Podgorica, Mr Ivan Vuković, visited all local communities on the territory of Podgorica and talked with the residents of Bioče, Pelev Brijeg, Brskut, Lijeva Rijeka and Trmanj.

He informed the residents about priority activities of the city administration planned for the northern local communities of Podgorica that would contribute to the residents’ better quality of life, and added that the aim of the Capital City is to visit all the local communities at least once per year, meanwhile working on the implementation of agreed activities.

“Construction of the first Bar-Boljare motorway section is something that would permanently change Montenegro’s look and contribute to the social and economic development of our country,” Mr Vuković emphasized.

He underlined that the priority activities in Bioče, Pelev Brijeg, Brskut, Lijeva Rijeka and Trmanj refer to the improvement of road infrastructure, water supply of better quality and power supply.

Mayor Vuković continued: “The Veruša interchange is especially important for the residents of Pelev Brijeg because they want to reach the motorway easily, and if we do it right, you will be able to reach the city in 20 minutes. We will have in mind all the suggestions of the citizens and will forward them to responsible authorities in order to resolve this matter in the best way possible.”

The city administration along with the Government and the company ‘Monteput’, he added, is going to undertake concrete measures when it comes to the elimination of some negative consequences of the motorway construction that the residents of villages near the motorway have already suggested.
