Betting shops in Montenegro earned EUR 14.882,377 in total revenue for the first nine months of 2018, which is by €5.5 million higher compared with the same period last year, the Games of Chance Administration told Dnevne Novine daily.

Commenting on these figures, professor Srđan Vukadinović, concluded Montenegro represents a society where games of chance generate more revenues than activities related to production and development. “If only this revenue had been generated in a small enterprise recruiting 30-40 employees! That would lead our country to progress. In this way we are becoming the country where betting shops and hospitality facilities flourish, whereas production is undermined.”

For the first nine months of 2017, the betting shops in MNE generated a EUR 9.374,178 revenue, according to the data of the Game of Chance Administration.

Thanks to the 2018 World Cup, the betting shops earned EUR 3,869,800 in June and July 2018, whereas the state collected EUR 10,325.831 in revenues from concession fees from January to the beginning of September 2018.
